Simple Software

Legal Management: March/April 2008

New Program Makes Databases a Breeze

Watershed “bridge” software is already changing how legal professionals work. This “bridge” program, called Breeze, makes complicated litigation database programs more accessible and manageable for firm employees, essentially doing what QuickBooks did for accounting.

Breeze transfers multi-page files (TIF or PDF) into single-page TIFs and loads them into databases including Summation, Concordance, Sanction, and TrialDirector. It provides optical character recognition (OCR) and Bates numbers. Breeze allows all of this to happen at a desktop computer, and its format is so simple that no training is needed to use it.

Perhaps most importantly, law firms get work product when they need it, instead of gambling on a service vendor’s time frame.
